Our commitment to you
We know that your information and your privacy are important to you – whether you are just browsing the website, are a member of the JamiiTrade community, or have joined one of our programmes. We value your trust in us, and we’ll do everything we can to protect your data, and use it for the good of you and the JamiiTrade community.
We have three privacy pledges that we live by:
We will only use your information to help us provide a better, more relevant and personal service to you.
We will never share your information with anyone else, without your express permission – and only if sharing your information, will help deliver a relevant service to you that you want.
We will always use the best possible technology and digital services to protect your information – and respect your right to ask questions about where your data is stored, who has access to it, and follow through when you ask us to remove your data from our systems (although we hope you won’t want to leave us!).
What type of information do we gather?
The main reason for gathering information about you – or anyone in the JamiiTrade community - is to help us understand who you are, and what you might need. The most common types of information that we gather include your contact details (so we can send you relevant information to support your menopause journey), as well as information that you may share with us about your specific situation. For example: your Business Profile, feedback about services or content that you like/don’t like, stories that you share with us, and answers to our regular community polls that help us to get to know you better.
We might occasionally collect what is known as “sensitive” information. This includes information about you that may be of a personal nature – such as your ethnicity, age, education, occupation, lifestyle, business profiles etc.
We also collect anonymous data about the users of our website and social media platforms, via applications such as Google Analytics and Hubspot. These applications do not collect any personally identifiable information and the data is only used for statistical and marketing purposes.
How do we gather your information?
We gather information about our community via various methods:
Forms that you complete on the website (e.g. signing up for the Newsletter or JamiiTrade Community)
Information that you share directly with us via the FAQ or Contact Us options
Information that you share with us when attending events, webinars or training sessions
When you complete a survey, poll or give us feedback
When you take up a subscription service or pay for training, or to attend exclusive events
As all the information that we collect is based on what you tell us, you are responsible for the accuracy of it. Should any of your details change, please remember to let us know so we can update your profile and ensure you only receive the most relevant content at any time.
Your information may be gathered or stored via one of the following secure locations:
Web Hosting Servers
Wix Secure servers
Google secure servers
Hubspot secure servers
How do we use your information?
We are very careful about who has access to your personal data, how it is protected, and only use it to help shape the kinds of services and offerings we can give you.
Occasionally we may aggregate data from all of the JamiiTrade community, to help us understand trends or preferences. The process of aggregating data includes removing personal identifiers - such as your name, email address or anything that could be used to identify an individual. This kind of aggregated data may be shared with service providers or reported in our research papers for statistical purposes – as it cannot be connected back to any individual.
We respect your data rights.
You also have the right to access any information that we have about you. You can request a full list of the data that we have, by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. You have the right to ask us to correct any information that is out of date or incorrect (please do tell us!) – and you have the right to ask us to delete or destroy any personal data that we may have about you, at any time.
If you have any concerns – or a complaint (we may sometimes get things wrong) – please send us the details in writing, via email, to email@example.com We promise to address your concerns as soon as possible. If you are not happy with how we resolve your concerns or complaint, you have the right to take this up with the Consumer Protection Ombudsman of South Africa (www.cgso.org.za).
